We have now considered your request of 13 September 2025 for the following information:

Please could you provide the following details regarding the University of East Anglia’s campus network infrastructure:

Question 1. The projected date or timeframe for the next major upgrade or overhaul of the university’s campus network infrastructure.

Question 2. A brief description of the scope of the planned upgrade, including whether it involves:

o Network hardware e.g. LAN Switching

o Wireless Network infrastructure

o Data centre Switching

o Cybersecurity enhancements e.g. SASE

o Preferred Firewall vendor e.g. Fortinet, Palo Alto etc

On this occasion it is not possible to provide any of the requested information. In line with your rights under section 1(1)(a) of the Act to be informed whether information is held, we confirm that the University does not hold any recorded information for timeframes, scope or strategy of upgrades.

We can tell you that plans for upgrades are in early discussion and have not yet been documented or scoped, however, we anticipate any planned upgrade to take place within the next five years.
