We have now considered your request of 08 May 2025 for the following information:
Question 1. For a typical student on the undergraduate A100 course, is topic of ‘conflicts of interest’ (relating to financial or sponsored interactions with commercial industry, like the pharmaceutical or medical devices industry) covered ?
Our response:
No. The topic of ‘conflicts of interest’ (relating to financial or sponsored interactions with commercial industry like the pharmaceutical or medical devices industry), is not covered by our MBBS Medicine (A100) course content.
Please supply information about this teaching;
Question 2. Please provide a list of sessions taking place on this topic. Please include sessions whose timetabled name differs but whose content includes teaching on conflicts of interest and financial or sponsored interactions with commercial industry/conflicts of interest. This request may be best directed to the curriculum leads for ethics, law, clinical governance, professionalism and/or clinical pharmacology.
Question 3 Please supply details of the role held by the person(s) delivering these sessions e.g. lecturer, senior lecturer, course lead, and area of speciality (eg ethicist, medical doctor, psychologist).
