Question 2. The total number of students at the university who have been suspended after/due to them taking part in Pro-Palestine protest/action on campus during the period: 07/10/23-31/03/25
Our response:
On this occasion it is not possible to provide any of the requested information. In line with your rights under section 1(1)(a) of the Act to be informed whether information is held, we confirm that the University does not hold any recorded information for the number of students to have faced or are facing disciplinary action after or due to them taking part in Pro-Palestine protest/action on campus, and the number of student suspended after or due to them taking part in protest action during the requested period.
When am individual students is suspected of breaching the University's General Regulations for Students procedures maybe invoked. ‘Protest activity’ regardless of its focus is not a breach of the General Regulation. Therefore, the University holds no data where a student has faced or is facing disciplinary action for breaching these procedures specifically for protest activity/action.
