EIR_25-274 Building refurbishment or demolition cancelled since 2015

We have now considered your request of 16 September 2025 for the following information:

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from you:

1. A list of all the infrastructure improvement/capital expenditure plans which your university had put together over the last ten years, but has since cancelled due to budget cuts. This should include:

a. Details of the plans (ie the scale, the name of the building eg, the value)

b. When each plan was put together, and when each plan was abandoned.

NOTE: this should include plans for refurbishment as well as new build/demolition jobs.

I would like to receive the information in excel format please

Our response:

On this occasion, it is not possible to provide all the requested information. The Environmental Information Regulations contain several exceptions that allow public authorities to withhold certain information from release. We have applied the following exceptions to part of your request.

Regulation 12(4)(a) is cited in relation to the entirety of the requested information as it was not held by the University at the time that the request was received.

The University does not hold any recorded information which meets the criteria of your request; that being, no infrastructure improvements/capital expenditure plans, including plans for refurbishment (as well as new build or demolition projects) were cancelled explicitly due to cuts in available budgets since 2015.
