Welcome to MoveX Lab, the specialist movement and exercise facility at UEA.
The MoveX Lab was established over 17 years ago, primarily focusing on stroke rehabilitation research.
Now under new management, the MoveX Lab has a refreshed mission: to provide state-of-the-art physiology and movement analysis within our core areas of focus which are research, education, clinical applications, and commercial collaborations. We aim to establish ourselves as the leading centre for these services in the region.
The lab has two cohesive laboratory areas: Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology.
The facility specialises in research and consultancy focusing on human movement and health technology in both clinical and non-clinical populations.
The equipment in each area enables researchers to make sensitive and objective measurements about how the human body responds during the execution of a given task.
These measurements range from a person’s musculoskeletal/joint activity, their central nervous movement control and their rate of oxygen consumption when performing physical activity.
