UEA awarded highest 5+ Stars rating in QS Stars assessment

The University of East Anglia has been awarded the highest possible overall rating of 5+ Stars in an internationally recognised evaluation.
The QS Stars university rating system highlights excellence across teaching, student experience, research, sustainability, employability and global engagement. UEA is only the sixth UK university to be awarded 5+ stars.
QS Stars is an independent university rating system designed to help prospective students compare institutions based on the factors that matter most to them, helping them make informed decisions about where to study based on their own goals and aspirations.
Unlike traditional league tables, QS Stars provides a detailed assessment of performance across a range of key areas, enabling students to identify universities that excel in their individual priorities.
UEA achieved a superb overall score of 920 out of 1,000, comfortably surpassing the 900-point threshold required for a 5+ Stars rating.
The assessment recognised UEA's strengths across a broad range of areas, with the results also highlighting its performance in areas that are of greatest importance to prospective students, such as teaching, support for students, career service support and environmental sustainability.
Particularly strong performances included scores of 99 out of 100 for facilities, 150 out of 150 for research, 142 out of 150 for employability, 92 out of 100 for environmental impact, 47 out of 50 for arts, and 49 out of 50 for diversity, equity and inclusion.
The results highlighted UEA's strong performance in areas that are of greatest importance to prospective students.
Professor Claire Pike, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Student Education and Experience, said: “I am very proud to see this result, which reflects UEA’s great strengths in education and student experience, underpinned by our excellent profile in research and innovation.
“Our 5+ Stars overall rating, and our top ratings in all the separate categories presented, highlight the very high level of satisfaction our students have with the teaching they receive, the superb facilities from which they benefit, and the inclusive environment at UEA in which they thrive.
“We are delighted that the results also showcase the excellent levels of employability that UEA graduates achieve when they become UEA alumni.”
The achievement places UEA among a select group of institutions worldwide to attain the highest QS Stars rating and demonstrates the University's commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience while achieving excellence in research, innovation and sustainability.
