UEA is proud to share that Natasha Green, a BSc Adult Nursing student in our School of Health Sciences, represented the Student Committee and the UK at this year’s Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Congress.
Natasha put forward a powerful motion calling for increased financial support for student nurses, highlighting the alarming reality that many are relying on food banks and skipping meals due to financial hardship. Her motion received overwhelming support from Congress members, underlining the urgent need for action.
Reflecting on the moment, Natasha said:
“I'm absolutely thrilled that the Nursing Times have written about the student finance resolution which was outstandingly carried by Congress.”
BSc Adult Nursing Course Director Lorraine Randlesome added:
“We are incredibly proud of Natasha’s achievement at the RCN Congress.
“Her courage to speak out and advocate for fellow student nurses on such a critical issue reflects the values of our programme and the future of the nursing profession.”
This advocacy marks a significant step toward improving conditions for student nurses across the country.
