Join the School of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology for an online session at 2pm on Thursday 22 October 2026 to learn about the new Enhanced Practice (Therapeutics) programme, starting in January 2027.
In this free session, the School will be building on their national reputation as leaders in post registration pharmacist training and describing their new provision.
The programme supports the development of prescribing confidence across all registered professions who manage medicines autonomously, including prescribing and with particular attention to early career practitioners or novice prescribers looking to expand scope. It preserves the qualification of PGCert and PGDip for those who want to pursue it, while also acknowledging the Royal College's Enhanced curriculum, and offers a range of flexible engagement options.

Following some successful pilots, the School can now welcome a range of professional groups to join their pharmacists in securing their autonomous medicines optimisation skills with level 7 study.
Dr Lindsay Morgan, Director of Pharmacist Postgraduate Professional Programmes, said: "It’s exciting to be able to offer this programme to pharmacists throughout the sectors to secure their core skills and prescribing confidence, and also to invite other healthcare professionals to develop the medicines optimisation aspects of their roles.
