As A-level results day approaches, the University of East Anglia (UEA) is offering a series of free online webinars designed to support students, parents, teachers, and advisors in navigating the Clearing process and managing the uncertainty that often comes with this time of year.
These sessions are part of UEA’s commitment to making Higher Education more accessible and less stressful for prospective students. Each webinar is hosted by UEA’s Higher Education advice team, with contributions from current students and support staff.
Jordan Bromley, a final-year Sport Development student from Norwich who is due to graduate next week, came to UEA through Clearing.
He originally decided university wasn’t for him but changed his mind and has since secured his dream job working as a trainer and a fully qualified Rebound Therapy Practitioner at the Able2B gym in Norwich, which aims to make the gym and physical exercise more accessible for children and adults with life-altering conditions.
He said: “In honesty, I really didn't want to go to university, even before COVID happened, I just felt like I could go and get a decent job through alternative courses or qualifications such as coaching.
“But it wasn't until I had gone down that route, I realised it wasn't for me and then decided to take the leap into university and find what I wanted to do.
“I feel very happy with my choice to go into Clearing because I was able to find my dream job through the connections made at uni.”
