The University of East Anglia (UEA) is in the top 20 UK universities according to the Guardian University Guide 2019 and has been named the number one UK university for “adding value” to its students.
The Guardian University Guide’s “Value Added” score measures the positive educational progress students make while at university, achieving good degree results.
The highly-respected league table ranks universities in a range of categories including teaching, student-staff ratios, entry tariffs and career prospects.
This year’s result, 18th place, is the latest league table success for UEA, after a top-15 ranking in the Complete University Guide 2019 earlier this year.
Prof David Richardson, UEA Vice-Chancellor, said: "I am delighted to see that our efforts to continually improve and support our students’ experience and outcomes have been recognised in this important national league table.
“It reflects our top-class teaching, which achieved a Gold ranking in the Teaching Excellence Framework, and the work we do to enrich our students’ experience and develop the skills they need to do well. I’d like to thank all my colleagues for their hard work and dedication.”
UEA also achieved top-10 subject level rankings for American Studies (1), Education (3), Social Work (4), History of Art (8) and Economics (10).
