Life in UEA Residences will be exciting, rewarding, and full of opportunities.
Students living in residences will be part of a cosmopolitan community comprised of individuals of different ages, backgrounds, and nationalities. The University encourages an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect within residences so that all students can strike the right balance between having a good time and being able to study.
The Dean of Students' Office has overall oversight of UEA residences. The Accommodation Office acts as the landlord and is responsible for organising the cleaning and maintenance of the buildings, allocating rooms and collecting rents. So if you have problems relating to these areas, you need to go to the Accommodation Office.
The Dean of Students' Office is responsible for the welfare and good order of students in residences; in practical terms, this work is overseen by the Senior Resident Tutor (SRT). An important role is also played by a team of 26 Senior Residents, who work for the Office and are co-ordinated by, and report to, the SRT.

Life in the Community
The Dean of Students' Office is able to assist students who are having difficulty with their housemates in private accommodation and also acts as liaison with Norwich City Council, Neighbourhood Wardens, Norfolk Constabulary, and Environmental Health, to help resolve issues with the local community and students living in the community. This work is overseen by the Student Services Manager (SSM), Jill Brown, with support from the Senior Resident Tutor (SRT). Contact the Dean of Students' Office on 01603 59 2761 to make an appointment with either the SSM or SRT if you are having difficulties with housemates or neighbours.
