The School of Mathematics at UEA is a flourishing department committed to excellence in teaching and research.
An external inspection of teaching quality by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education awarded the School 23 points out of a maximum possible of 24, making it one of the highest-rated departments in the country, and in the 2008 UK National Student Survey, the School was ranked joint second for overall student satisfaction. The School has a strong international reputation for its research and students are taught by leading experts in a broad range of topics in Mathematics. The 2008 UK Research Assessment Exercise judged over half of the research activity in the School to be world-leading or internationally excellent.
