Kay YeomanKay Yeoman is a professor and has established science communication as a discipline within the School of Biological Sciences.

She is passionate about how students can gain skills and experience within science communication and facilitates students working with a variety of external organisations through the Science Communication Student Consultancy Programme. Kay has authored a book on Science Communication Practice and published a number of education research papers.

She has presented her work at a variety of national conferences. Kay is the current Biological Sciences Admissions Director, and also directs UEA’s School:University Partnership programme. She is a Senior Fellow of the HEA, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and is on the education committee of the British Mycological Society. She is also an editor of the education section of the journal FEMS.

Current projects include an investigation into research-led teaching, and in particular the perception of what research is, both in a secondary school and higher education setting.
