Working for UEA

UEA has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for teaching and research in the UK.

We're currently advertising a wide range of vacancies and would love you to join our diverse community.

Equal Pay Statement for Inhouse and Outsourced Staff

At the University of East Anglia, our values define who we are as an employer and unite us in how we work together. We are committed to ensuring fair and equal pay for everyone who works with us.

To uphold this we publish our Gender Pay Gap, and continually review and improve our processes. This helps us to maintain compliance with equal pay legislation whilst fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful working environment where every individual feels valued and rewarded for their contributions.

We are proud to employ directly the majority of our operational staff, including those in roles such as cleaning, catering and hospitality, security and grounds maintenance who are traditionally outsourced at many Institutions. By bringing these valued colleagues in-house, we ensure they benefit from the same fair pay, terms, and conditions as other University employees, further demonstrating our commitment to equality, inclusion, and social responsibility.

We are also committed to fair treatment of temporary agency workers. In line with the Agency Workers Regulations 2010, once the qualifying period is completed, all temporary agency workers at the University receive pay and terms and conditions at least equal to those of comparable directly employed staff.

Our commitment extends beyond our direct workforce. Through responsible procurement, we actively seek to partner with suppliers who share our values, ensuring that environmental, social, ethical, and economic responsibility are embedded across our supply chain.
