Emy

Apa Khabar? I'm Kyle, a Malaysian Chinese born and raised on the beautiful island of Penang, Malaysia.

I'm currently a first-year student at the Norwich Business School, majoring in Business Management. While I'm passionate about business, my interests extend beyond to various sectors, including music, beauty, fashion, tech and science. I enjoy exploring new things and grabbing opportunities whenever possible. During my free time, you'll find me socialising and enjoying good food with friends, or simply unwinding in my bed watching movies or playing mobile games. I also have a penchant for playing the piano, participating in indoor sports, and hitting the gym.

As mentioned, I enjoy embracing new experiences, and I've recently joined the archery club here at UEA, potentially discovering a new hobby of mine. UEA has over 50 diverse clubs and 200 societies, ensuring that your university life remains engaging if you opt to explore various opportunities in different clubs and societies. This has allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals, make friends, and delve into topics I'm genuinely passionate about. Additionally, I've participated in the sign language society at UEA, acquiring valuable skills and practising communication in sign language, which proves beneficial in specific situations.

One of the reasons that influenced my decision to choose UEA is the outstanding quality of their courses and teaching. Their curriculum consistently emphasises creative problem-solving, and I believe a modern university like UEA can provide me with unique insights distinct from other universities. I appreciate the flexibility to tailor my degree to my interests, particularly in areas like marketing, allowing me to acquire specific skills relevant to my future career. UEA also has plenty of available resources for students. For instance, the Career Central is dedicated to enhance students' employability skills such as cv writing or interview techniques. I've actively engaged in multiple workshops, each providing valuable insights and deepening my understanding of the job sector aligned with my interests.

The location of UEA also played a significant role in my decision. Situated in Norwich, a city of just the right size with all the necessary amenities, it provided the ideal setting for my studies. I prefer a quieter and smaller city environment over major cities like London, as it allows me to focus more on my studies without significant distractions. Norwich has a unique charm—offering both the tranquillity of nature and sufficient shops and entertainment options to keep one occupied. The city has beautiful historical buildings, with the cathedral being my favourite spot for finding peace and occasionally working, given its stunning café. UEA's campus also features an attractive brutalist design, complemented by the Sainsbury Art Centre, creating an aesthetic haven for all learners in this vibrant, friendly, and open environment.
