The Faculty of Science has a long and well deserved international reputation for research excellence in biology, chemistry, computing, engineering, environmental sciences, mathematics, pharmacy and physics.
We are home to a community of more than 400 research students, with nearly 200 more in our associated research institutes. Students are integrated into the academic community of their home Schools, but there are strong collaborative links between schools and institutes, and many joint PhD projects. The Graduate School works with schools and the university Doctoral College to support students and supervisors. Training and professional development are organised at Faculty level, and we will help you and your supervisory team to enable you to develop the skills you need to complete and publish your research.
Funded studentships, and opportunities for self-funding students are advertised as they arise but please contact potential supervisors directly if you are interested in other topics.
