Leaving a Legacy

Remembering the University in your Will

A gift of a legacy helps to provide continuing support to the University and benefit future generations of students. For a growing number, this is a way of making a difference to the future teaching, education and research at UEA, after you have passed away.

UEA has charitable status (reference XN 423) and is exempt from paying Income Tax and Inheritance Tax on gifts of property or money that you give in life, or leave to the University in your Will. A legacy can therefore reduce any tax payable by your estate after your death.

A legacy gift is deeply appreciated and we are happy to provide confidential advice to enable you to decide the most effective way of giving, as well as agreeing the most appropriate way of recognising your gift.

All legacies, whether large or small will help towards making a significant difference to the research and education conducted at UEA.

If you wish to talk to us about leaving a legacy gift, or for any more information please call Joyce Griffin, development manager on +44 (0) 1603 592114 or alternatively, email j.griffin@uea.ac.uk.

If you have already named University of East Anglia in your Will, please do let us know by filling in a legacy pledge form in order for us be able to properly recognise your support. We would love to invite you to our annual reception for all our supporters who have arranged a gift in their will.
