Travelling by train
Norwich is less than 2 hours from London by train and trains run from London Liverpool Street to Norwich Station every 30 minutes.
There are also InterCity rail links with the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland via Peterborough.
Discount tickets are often available if purchased before the day of travel and can be significantly cheaper - but will only be posted to UK addresses - see Raileasy's website for more information.
The easiest way to reach UEA from the station is by taxi, which costs less than £10 and takes approximately 15 minutes. Some local taxi numbers are:
- 1st Goldstar: 01603 700700
- ABC: 01603 666333
- Enterprise: 01603868788
There are also regular buses to the University via the city centre from the station forecourt (numbers 25 or 26).
Travelling by bus or coach
First Buses 25 (Saturday Timetable) and 26 (Saturday Timetable) run from Norwich Train Station via the city to UEA (the journey to campus takes approximately 20 minutes). As you leave the station, turn right and walk past the taxi rank to the bus stops.
National Express coaches run from Norwich Bus Station and UEA to a variety of locations across the UK. More information is available here.
Travelling by plane
Norwich Airport is a short taxi ride away from UEA and has regular flights to and from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Manchester and Paris and international connections to 200 cities worldwide through regular direct flights to and from Schipol Airport in Amsterdam.
Where to stay in Norwich
You can stay in our B&B on campus, Broadview Lodge, who offer Open Day discounts (mention UEA Open Day when you book) but if you would like to stay in the city centre, please see Visit Norwich for a list of local accommodation.
Travelling by car
From London and the South, take the M11/A11 north, just outside Norwich take the A47 (Southern Bypass) in the direction of Swaffham - the University is signposted off at the next exit (B1108).
If you are driving from the North or the Midlands, you can use the A47 via King's Lynn, or the A14 as far as Newmarket and then take the A11 to Norwich.
Where to park
We are expecting a large number of visitors at the Open Day so we would advise using public transport where possible. If you do drive to campus, please allow a little time to park your car so you can get to your first talk or activity on time. Parking is free on campus on our Open Days and the postcode for UEA is NR4 7TJ.
If you require blue badge parking, please let us know by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling +44(0)1603 593251.
