Do I need to book for the Open Days?

Yes, you need to book online before coming to the Open Day so that you receive all the relevant information you need before arriving on the day.

You don't need to book onto specific subject talks but we may only be able to allow one guest to attend the talk with you.

Can I amend or cancel my booking online?

Yes, you just need to follow the instructions below:

To cancel

  • Go to our Open Day list
  • Select the Open Day date you registered for
  • Enter your username and password and sign in
  • The my events/interviews tab shows you the events you are registered to attend
  • In the action column click decline to cancel your bookingT

To amend your booking

  • Go to our Open Day list
  • Select the new date you wish to attend
  • Enter your username and password and sign in
  • Click on the my events/interviews tab
  • Decline the original Open Day booking made in the actions column
  • Click the search button
  • On the starts on drop down menu, select 'Within 1 year'
  • Click search
  • Select the new event you would like to register for
  • Click register in the right hand column
  • Check all of the information is correct
  • Click register
  • Registration complete

Can I book by telephone?

If you're having any difficulties with our online registration procedure you are more than welcome to call us on 01603 593251 and we can register you over the phone.

How do I get to UEA?

You can find out about getting to UEA (including parking information) on our travel page.

Can I park at the Open Day?

Yes, our car park team, wearing high-vis jackets, will direct you to where you need to park. You can find more information about parking here

What is the postcode for SATNAV?

The postcode for UEA's campus is NR4 7TJ. 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You need to bring your email confirmation containing your QR code so we can register you quickly on the day. If you forget your email, we will still be able to register you (it just takes longer).

If you register online more than 2 weeks in advance of an Open Day, you will be sent an Open Day programme through the post. Please bring this too; it will help you plan your day.

Where shall I report to on arrival?

Please head to Students' Union building in the heart of campus, where you will be able to register for the day. There will be lots of UEA staff and students on hand to direct you.

Do I need to register on the day?

Yes please! You can register in the Students' Union building throughout the day. 

Can I leave my luggage?

Yes you can leave your luggage although we don't have a designated, locked room for storing any personal belongings. If you need to leave luggage, please ask a member of UEA staff.

Is there wifi?

Yes, the Cloud Wifi is freely available throughout the University. Select the Cloud when connecting to Wifi on your device and follow the instructions on your screen.

Where can I find out more about student finance, accommodation and admissions?

Representatives from the admissions, student finance and accommodation teams will be on hand to answer your questions in the LCR (Student Union Building) throughout the day until 3:00pm.

Can I attend more than one subject talk?

Yes of course, please attend any subject talks you are interested in studying. Although we don't require you to book onto talks in advance, some get very busy so attendance may be limited to one guest per student. We would advise you to turn up approx.15 minutes before each talk to ensure you get a seat.

How long do subject talks last?

It varies depending on your chosen subject. Most last between 35 and 45 minutes with time for questions afterwards.

Can I meet academics and current students?

Yes, you can meet current students and academic staff throughout the day; you can find out where to meet students and academics from your subject(s) of interests in our programme

Do I need to book practical demos?

You don't need to book onto any practical demos (these are offered by Science and Health subjects throughout the day). More information about the types of demonstrations on offer and where you can go to see the demonstrations can be found in the subject areas.You can also pick up Science demo leaflets in the Students' Union at registration, at Information Gazebos and in Science subject areas. 

Will I be sent a hard copy of the Open Day programme in advance?

We will send all students who pre-register up to two weeks before the Open Day starts a copy of the programme in advance - this will really help you plan your day. If you register just before the event, we won't be able to send you a programme in the post but we will have lots of them available to pick up on the day. 

Can I bring guests?

Yes you are more than welcome to bring guests with you! However, please be aware that some of our subject talks are very popular, so we may limit attendance to one guest per student.

Can I look around the campus and accommodation on my own?

Yes, we have a number of guided campus and accommodation tours on offer but if you would prefer to look around at your own pace, you can take a self-guided campus tour (which includes the option to visit our different types of accommodation). Please see the campus tours stand on the day, outside the Student Support Centre, for more information.

What if I have additional requirements?

If you have any additional requirements that you would like to make us aware of, please indicate these on the form when you book onto an Open Day. We will contact any visitor who gives us information about their additional requirements prior to the day to ensure that you can enjoy your experience fully. If you have any additional needs and would like to discuss the support available, please call 01603 593251 or email opendays@uea.ac.uk.

Is there anywhere to eat on campus?

Yes, there are a number of catering outlets across campus. Whether you want a quick coffee or a hot meal, we have something for everyone. Information about where to find food and drink is available in our programme.

What emails should I expect to get before the Open Day?

We will email you to confirm your event details when you register and you should receive this email within 24 hours. 

We will also send you an email a day before your Open Day with further information about parking, arrivals and how to plan your day.

If you need any more details, feel free to email us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

What are the opening times and do I need to stay all day?

The Open Day is open from 9:00am until 3:30pm. The campus is open all day for you to explore but you don't have to stay all day; we've designed our programme so that you can pick the talks, tours and activities that you want to do.

Will the whole campus be open at the Open Day?

We have an open campus so the majority of buildings will be open on the day. We often have some form of building work taking place on campus during the summer (where we are improving learning, social and living facilities) so some access may be restricted. We will also have a number of types of accommodation available to view.

Will there be postgraduate information available?

These events are geared towards prospective undergraduate students. To find out more about postgraduate study at UEA, please see our website.
