Student Led Campus Tours Student Led Campus Tours

I have already visited UEA. Can I come to a Campus Tour too?

Even if you have already visited UEA at a different event, you are welcome to come to a Campus Tour.

Where do we meet to go on a Campus Tour?

We will email you a few days before you visit us with the meeting point for your tour.

How long do tours last?

Tours last approximately 1 hour.

Can I have a look around the SportsPark?

Yes, just ask the student giving your tour to show you.

Can I park on campus?

The car parks at UEA fill up very quickly, particularly during term time. To avoid disappointment, we would recommend parking at Costessey Park & Ride, which is only a 10 minute bus ride from UEA. Buses leave every 20 minutes and stop on campus. Visitors to UEA pay a £1 return charge each. We will email you details about getting to campus just before your tour. See our Getting to UEA page for more information.

If you do drive onto campus, we may have spaces available in our main car park (p1 on our campus map). Parking is chargeable and you will need to pay at the machines in the car park before you leave.

How do I get to UEA from Norwich Train Station?

The numbers 25 and 26 buses leave from just outside the train station entrance to UEA via Norwich city centre.

Buses from the station take approximately 30 minutes and leave every 10 minutes.

You can also get a taxi from outside the station.

Is there anywhere to buy food/drink on campus?

Yes there are several places to eat and drink on campus; just ask your tour guide and they will point you in the direction of the nearest place to eat.

What should I wear?

We don't mind what you wear but would recommend comfortable footwear! A lot of the tour will be outside so we would advise that you wear weather appropriate clothing.

Will Campus Tours be cancelled if it is raining/snowing

We aim to run campus tours no matter what the weather! If we do cancel your tour, we will get in touch.

Can my parent/guardian/friend come with me?

Yes they are welcome to come along with you.

Can we bring children?

Yes but they must be accompanied by an appropriate adult who carries full responsibility for the child during the campus tour

Will I get to see teaching facilities on my tour?

You will be able to see some of the buildings where your subject will be taught. Our lecture theatres and generic seminar rooms are used as teaching spaces for lots of different subjects.

We won't be able to show you inside specialist teaching facilities (such as labs) due to teaching timetables but please let you tour guide know if you want to see where your subject area is based.

Can I meet an academic to discuss my course?

We can't guarantee that someone from your chosen subject will be available to meet you because academics have such busy timetables. However, if you did want to discuss your options with an academic or member of the admissions team, please email campustours@uea.ac.uk and we can try our best to arrange a meeting.

Can I park on campus if I have a blue badge?

Yes - please email campustours@uea.ac.uk to let us know that you require blue badge parking and we will advise you on where to park.

Do I need to tell anyone that I am coming on a Self Guided Campus Tour?

You don't need to tell anyone; please feel free to turn up at your leisure!

Can I park on campus if I have a blue badge?

Yes, please email campustours@uea.ac.uk to let us know that you require blue badge parking and we will advise you on where to park.

Can I pick up a hard copy of the Self Guided Campus Tour leaflet?

You can pick up a print out at the Registry reception (building number 2 on our  campus map) Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Alternatively, please feel free to download a copy.

Can I visit accommodation?

You can see the outside of our accommodation on a Self Guided Tour but not the inside. Check out our accommodation webpages for more information about our halls.

Can I visit the library?

Yes you are welcome to visit the library but you will need to bring proof of identification, including a photograph and a current address.

I would like to meet with an academic. Is this possible?

We will always try our best but we can't guarantee it. If you send us an email we will see what we can do.

Can I go and look around the Sportspark?

Yes, you just need to let the reception staff know that you are on a Campus Tour.

I am interested in Nursing/Medicine. Can I go to the Hospital Site?

You are more than welcome to walk down to the site unaccompanied; it is about a fifteen minute walk across our sports fields (please see our campus map).

The Medicine building is called the Bob Champion Research and Education Building and the Nursing building is called the Edith Cavell Building.

You won't be able to look in the teaching rooms but if you would like to do this we would advise coming on an Open Day.

When is UEA closed?

We close for Christmas and Easter; the dates are listed here. Campus is never closed completely but during these periods it will be extremely quiet.

Where are the toilets?

Our toilets are clearly signposted all over campus and can be found on our campus map.
