Your University Questions, Answered.

Can I learn a language as part of my degree? Jamie, Hove

Our Answer:

The short answer is, yes!

You can learn a language by choosing an undergraduate language module as a 'non-credit' student – this option is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

UEA also offers language evening classes where you can choose from Arabic, British Sign Language, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Russian or Spanish.

The other option is slightly less formal - why not hang out with other students that have a passion for different countries too? There are lots of different societies that focus on different cultures, or simply get out there and meet other students. Our campus and the people who live and work here make up a diverse and international community.

Our student blogger Georgia is studying Adult Nursing, but also has a passion for all things Japanese. She joined the Japan Society and is learning the language in her spare time.
