Your University Questions, Answered.

Can I do a placement as part of my degree? Anil, London

Our Answer:

Lots of courses offer work experience modules or a Year in Industry option - giving you the experience and skills needed to secure your graduate job. Our course finder has a handy filter so you can search for UEA degree programmes specifically offering a Year in Industry.

There is also the opportunity on some courses to work or study abroad. As part of the ERASMUS ("European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students") program, you can choose to work abroad for a semester or an academic year either independently or as part of a pre-organised placement programme.

Working abroad greatly enhances your CV, professional skills and increases your employability after graduation. Make sure you double check if the course you're interested in offers work placements.

Career Central, UEA's careers and advice centre also offer paid Internships for current students and graduates, which offer experience in a wide variety of sectors.

There are also lots of paid job opportunities on campus, either through the Students' Union or the UEA Student Ambassador scheme.

So there are plenty of opportunities to work, (earn money) and gain experience while you study.
