Your University Questions, Answered.

What’s likely to be involved in the theatre auditions next year? Rosalie, Buckingham

Our Answer:

UEA’s Drama courses are renowned for their strong practical and theoretical balance with more than 80% of the research being rated either world-leading or internationally excellent in the Research Excellence Framework (REF2014).

Candidates that are shortlisted from their initial UCAS application will be invited to an interview and audition with a member of the Drama team. We expect that the auditions for our three Drama-based courses will run in a very similar way to this year.  We offer a range of dates to choose from, (usually 7 or 8 each year), and we’ll send you the list of monologues in advance (from which you’ll select just one, prepare and learn it ready for the audition). You will also be asked to prepare a short modern piece (1950 onwards).

On the day, you’ll meet with one member of our Drama team for the audition and interview (no workshops or group activities). Most of our applicants really enjoy the chance to work on a one-to-one basis and we try to make it as enjoyable as possible!

All the best with the audition and while you are here for the audition you will have the chance to see our award winning accommodation and take a tour of our beautiful campus and excellent facilities
