Your University Questions, Answered.

Is UEA Accommodation catered or self-catered? Amy, Maidstone

Our Answer:

If you decide to stay with us on campus in your first year, all our accommodation is self-catered. We have many food outlets across campus including restaurants, cafes and coffee shops if you don't fancy cooking for yourself. There's also a student-run shop with a good variety of food, catering for all tastes and dietary requirements.

Tesco Express and Co-op supermarkets are within easy walking distance of campus with Waitrose and Morrisons an extra mile or short bus journey from campus. Many larger local supermarkets are also available for a home delivery service straight to your flat on campus.

Cooking a meal in your accommodation is a great way to make new friends. Our Accommodation Office supplies a cook book "A Taste of UEA Residences", which contains 'tried and tested" meals for you to develop your culinary skills and impress your new housemates!

Have a look at Anne-Sophie's blog, which shows here experiments and successes in cooking for herself at university.
