Universidad ORT Uruguay is Uruguay's largest private university. It has about 12,000 students, distributed among five faculties and institutes.
Universidad ORT Uruguay was established as a non-profit organization in 1942 and was officially certified as a private university in September 1996, becoming the first private educational institution in the country to achieve that status. It is a member of World ORT, an international education network founded in 1880 by the Jewish community in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The university has an international area dedicated to advise, support and guide foreign students who choose to study in Uruguay, make the most of the opportunities offered by the institution and to experience life in this small and amazing country.
