The University of Groningen is one of the oldest universities in the Netherlands as well as one of the largest. It is comprised of ten faculties which offer courses in the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Economics and Business, Spatial Sciences, Life Sciences, and Natural Sciences and Technology. It is a very high ranking university among international league tables with excellent facilities. The city of Groningen is small but full of life and allegedly one of Europe’s happiest cities. It has a great deal to offer in terms of culture, with many museums, cinemas, theatres and exhibitions on offer.
