The University of Bielefeld is a modern German university located in the west of Bielefeld next to the Teutoberg Forest. The university is currently undergoing expansion and development, seeking to build on research and teaching facilities which have already been recognised by the Excellence Intiative program for German universities. It comprises 13 faculties in fields such as humanities, natural sciences, social sciences and technology.
