Founded in 1883, Auckland University is New Zealand’s largest university with nearly 40,000 students. It is located in the heart of the city of Auckland, on the North Island of New Zealand. Auckland is well known for sailing and its harbour also hosts swimming beaches. There are also multiple annual festivals including comedy, film and a symphony orchestra.

The university is spread across six campuses but has over 200 clubs and societies. The University of Auckland is the only New Zealand University to be listed in the Times Higher Education top 200, and is the highest ranked New Zealand University in the QS World University Rankings.
