Studying and living at UEA Studying and living at UEA

Imagine waking up in the beautiful countryside just minutes from a world-class city; UEA provides students with the best of both worlds.

Campus

Our campus has a great community feel with shops, cafes, accommodation and teaching rooms all a short walk from each other, surrounded by green space and countryside. International Summer School students will be registered UEA students and have access to all facilities on campus.

The centre of UEA campus has everything you need for your time at the International Summer School, including catering outlets, Waterstones bookshop, Barclays Bank, ATM's, the Laundrette, a bar and the Shop run by the UEA Students Union. Our library is open 24/7 all year round, containing over 800,000 books and journals, silent and group study areas, individual study rooms and an IT suite. As an International Summer School student you will be able to explore The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, our on campus museum and art gallery, which includes artwork by Francis Bacon and Picasso. We also have the SportsPark located on campus which is the biggest indoor university sports centre in Britain and has an 8-lane athletics track, a newly equipped gymnastics centre, hockey and football pitches, tennis and squash courts and a state-of-the-art gym. The Medical Centre offers GP services, specialist clinics, a pharmacy, and a travel health centre.

Accommodation

UEA isn’t just an inspiring place to study, it is also a great place to live. As an International Summer School student you will be living in our contemporary, private en suite accommodation called Britten House, which is located in the centre of campus. From here it will take just 5-15 minutes to walk wherever you need to go on campus. You will be sharing a kitchen and communal area with 8-12 other students from the programme. Many of our students choose to cook meals together, or take turns in sharing a meal from their home countries with flatmates.

Accommodation is guaranteed and automatically allocated to International Summer School students, which ensures that you have a safe, comfortable and fun place to live while studying with us. There will be residential staff living in Britten House who are able to assist with any queries you may have.
