Our inclusive socials programme is part of your fee and includes:
An induction programme: A Welcome Brunch where you can meet fellow students and the International Summer School Team. This will be followed by guided tours of the university campus and Norwich city centre which will culminate in discovering your new friends’ competitiveness in a couple of games of Ten-Pin Bowling with a meal.
A Mississippi Steam Boat Trip down the picturesque Norfolk Broads. A two-hour boat trip with fellow students where you can observe the beautiful countryside, enjoy a buffet dinner, and luxuriate in the on-board bar area. Transport provided.
The Great British Quiz. Bring your thinking caps along to this British pub-style quiz; come along in a team or just turn up and meet some new people. Prizes to be won and free drinks included.
International Food Night. Bring along famous cuisine from your home countries and sample the global delicacies that fellow students have bought along. There will also be a set of British food taste challenges that you can partake in, with the winning team being announced during the finale.
Seaside Trip. A chance to go to a famous Norfolk Wildlife Reserve, Blakeney Point, home to a huge colony of seals. After the seals trip, you will head to the nearby seaside town where there will be a traditional fish and chips lunch and the opportunity to partake in a local pastime, crabbing. Transport provided.
The Great British Picnic. Experience a traditional afternoon picnic down by the university’s Broad and partake in some British games, such as rounders or croquet.
Finale. Celebrate your time at the University of East Anglia with a final ceremony. There will be an official presentation with certificates of completion given to all students, followed by a sit-down dinner and a karaoke-disco to round off the evening. A photographer will be present throughout so you can get some photos of you and your friends!
