What is a Summer School?
Our Summer Schools offer a chance to study a subject in-depth and experience university life. You will stay on campus, meet current students and take part in hands-on activities led by current academics. Attending a Summer School will help to enhance the personal statement part of your UCAS application.
How much will it cost?
£175 which covers all activities, meals, refreshments and accommodation.
Free places and support with travel costs are available to all those who live in a household with an income of less than £25,000 or who are in care. See our Enrichment events FAQs page for more details.
If you have any questions or concerns about cost, please contact us.
How do I apply?
The deadline for applications will be 1 May 2017. Places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis subject to meeting the predicted grade requirements (ABB+ for A-levels or equivalent) and a strong supporting statement. You will be notified about the outcome of your application by 22 May 2017.
Please do not hesitate to contact us to check whether places remain before completing your application.
Where will I stay?
You will stay in your own room in our en-suite student accommodation on campus. A student ambassador will be on-hand in each flat and rooms will be allocated based on the Summer School that you are attending.
Who else will attend?
Year 12 (and 11s for the Law Summer School) students from all over the country (and beyond!) attend our Summer Schools. You will also have the opportunity to meet and work alongside current university students.
When are the Summer Schools?
All Summer Schools run from Sunday 2 July - Tuesday 4 July 2017. 2 July is an arrivals day so you are welcome to join us in the afternoon (time and location to be confirmed) to register your attendance. The Summer Schools will end at approximately 4pm on 4 July - please refer to your individual Summer School programme for exact finish time.
