Medical Aspirations Scholarship
The University has received a generous donation from an alumnus to support future students wishing to study medicine at UEA through the Medical Aspirations Scholarship Programme. There will be a minimum of three Scholarships awarded annually to be known as The Medical Aspirations Scholarships (depending on number of Medical Aspirations attendees successfully gaining a place on UEA's 5 year medicine course). The purpose of the Scholarships is to enable students from non-traditional medical backgrounds to study for the MB/BS degree in Medicine.
From 2012/13 onwards, the Scholarships will be worth between 50% and 100% of the recipients' full course fees for the first four years of their five-year degree, the amount being dependent upon the number of successful applicants in any given intake. In the event that the number of eligible recipients was to bring the annual value of the Scholarships below 50% of the fees, then a competitive process will be introduced to determine the winners of the awards. The scholarship funding can be used towards living costs, rather than tuition fees, if preferred.
