What does a day in the life of a student nurse look like if you make that change? At UEA you’ll gain lots of experience and training, whether it be in the lecture theatre or out at a wide range of placements. You’ll learn from nurses who are experts in their field and have access to state-of-the art equipment.
Your day on campus will be spent learning about different aspects of nursing and care, there will be lectures and group work. These theory based skills you learn will be put into practice when you are out on placement.
You’ll be taught in UEA’s dedicated Edith Cavell building which is directly opposite the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital. Our excellent facilities include clinical skills laboratories and interactive immersive classrooms.
You’ll become fully qualified to be able to provide a holistic approach to care that creates positive therapeutic relationships with patients.
Placements can be incredibly rewarding. While on placement you’ll hone the skills you need to use on the wards and within the community.
You’ll get the opportunity to experience all aspects of care from acute (critical care) to community care. No two days are ever the same. You’ll also get the opportunity to travel across the region and learn from other professionals along the way.
You’ll be fully supported by UEA and will be provided with a dedicated mentor throughout your placement.
