Clermont-Ferrand is surrounded by the largest natural park in France, the Auvergne Regional Park of Volcanoes. It is a region of outstanding natural beauty with extinct volcanoes, lakes, rivers and forests within a 15-minute drive from the city’s historic centre. The Auvergne region is located in the centre of France making other major cities easily accessible. The university counts 16,000 students, 14% of which are international. The Blaise Pascal University has five Faculties (called “U.F.R.”, Unités de Formation et de Recherche); two Schools of Engineering; one University Institute of Technology and one Teacher Training Faculty.
