Mauritian Student Ambassador

Hello everyone! I’m Krishnee, a third year Pharmacy student at UEA. First of all, I always wanted to pursue my tertiary studies abroad and during my look out for universities in the UK, I came across UEA.

According to Student satisfaction survey 2015, UEA was rated 1st in Pharmacy Schools in the UK on the quality of our research output. This was when I decided to come to UEA as research is one among my career options. Furthermore, the different scholarships schemes offered by UEA to Mauritian students in various courses are a very good boost to start an amazing career by studying at UEA. I was even offered a partial scholarship after going through my applications.

The university provides modern teaching facilities as well as a well-equipped library, which was recently refurbished, with 24hr open access IT facilities. Both the teaching and non-teaching staffs are very friendly and are always ready to help. At UEA, many sources of help are available such your academic adviser, the International Office, Student Support Centre, MyCareerCentral office. UEA also has an on campus shop and bookstore. Not to forget, the UEA lake which is a must to walk around and UEA bunnies roaming around!

Moreover, Norwich is a beautiful city surrounded with amazing infrastructures. Ranked among the safest place in England, Norwich offers a variety of modern facilities, shopping malls and sports centres as well as its monumental buildings such as The Castle and many other vintage beautifual Cathedrals. Norwich is also known for its green areas, lakes and especially the riverside which enhance more the beauty of the green city. “Kom tou ban morisien ki content football anglais”, Norwich City has its own football club playing in the elite English football division, “the premiership kuma nu koner ek content”. This allows us to see real live games and football stars whenever we have Norwich City FC playing.

The lifestyle, environment and especially the weather in England are different from that in Mauritius but the hospitality of the people here helps to settle down easily and to make more friends. “Nu Moris res nu Moris mai Norwich li bien acceuillant!”

Apart from academics, my life at UEA is really exciting. As I lived on campus during my first year, I have made many international friends with whom I enjoy my time in UEA and in Norwich. With friends I have attended events such as the International Student Party, social events and even festivals in Norwich. The city itself is pleasant with a very relaxed atmosphere.

Finding suitable accommodation is always of high priority for new international students. UEA provides the most appropriate and affordable accommodation with 24hr security and warden assistants. International students are also guaranteed accommodation for the duration of their course. I am currently living outside UEA campus in a shared student house and it has been an amazing experience with my new housemates who eventually become life-long friends.

Indeed my years of experience at UEA and in Norwich City is a great one and I highly recommend UEA to prospective students as the best place to study.

Please feel free to email me at for more information about UEA!
