UEA is committed to its activities contributing to generating economic and societal benefits. These economic and societal benefits are often referred to as the impact of our activities. UEA is very happy that recognising the strength of our research base the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) has awarded UEA an ESRC Impact Accelerator Account which will support a four year programme of activity promoting and enhancing the generation of impact.
Central to the delivery of the programme will be UEA engaging and working more closely with partners and external organisations increasing the effectiveness of two way knowledge exchange. UEA will be looking to work with external partners through a range of prioritised and targeted projects to increase:
- UEA's understanding of partner needs
- Coproduction of knowledge and knowledge exchange
- Translation of knowledge into economic and societal benefits
To achieve the aim of increased impact UEA will be using the funding to support two broad areas of activity, the development of strategic themes involving a range of expertise and rapid responsive mode funding for individual projects.
The over-all programme will be led by the Executive Dean for Social Science, Prof. Jacqueline Collier, supported by a Delivery Board made up from Faculty representatives and specialist support services.
To ensure that the programme of activity remains externally focussed UEA will be establishing an External Advisory Board.
UEA staff wishing to find out more about the programme should visit UEA's internal pages about ESRC Impact Accelerator Accounts.
