Our PhD studentships are an opportunity to become part of our active, outstanding, globally respected research groups. With more than 1,400 research students across the Norwich Research Park there is a wide range of exciting opportunities to study at postgraduate level at UEA.

Our academics are active researchers and we have a large community of research staff and postgraduate research students.  Our aim is to support the development of all staff and to nurture early career researchers. Research is carried out within Schools and there are many collaborations between Schools, Research Centres and Research Groups.

We recognise the vital role that research staff play in maintaining and developing the research reputation of the University. We have developed a full programme of training and development for research staff and through supporting progression towards a sustainable research career we aim to improve both the impact and quality of UEA's research, whilst helping to create a satisfying and dynamic research environment.

UEA is committed to the principles of fair, responsible and open use of metrics in the assessment of research activity and performance and are a signatory to the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).

UEA fully supports the Concordat, a national agreement to support the career development of researchers though increasing the attractiveness and sustainability of research careers in the UK.
