UEA School of Psychology celebrates success in REF 2014
THE REF2014 results recently published show that all the research submitted from the School of Psychology is of international quality, with over 80% rated as world leading or internationally excellent.
Professor Kenny Coventry, Head of the School said "We are absolutely delighted that our research has been so highly evaluated in REF2014. This is particularly pleasing given that this was the first REF submission led by the School of Psychology, in only its second year of existence. The future of research for UEA Psychology is very bright indeed."
REF is a periodic national exercise by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to assess the quality and impact of research at UK universities. The results are used to allocate around £2 billion of research funding to universities each year.
REF2014 ranks UEA overall 21st among mainstream British universities, or 28th out of 154 when specialist institutions are included. UEA is one of the biggest climbers with a rise of 12 places since the last assessment in 2008.
