APPLYING AS AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

Applying is easy, free and takes no more than 20 minutes.

For Masters courses, we recommended that you submit your application for September 2022 entry by 31 July 2022, but it is advisable to start the process much earlier if you can.

For most master's courses, you will need to submit your degree grades/certificate, personal statement, a recommendation and certified translations where appropriate.  English language certification is also asked for in many cases. The good news is that even if you don’t have your completed degree documentation, or English language certification, you can still submit your application and may receive a “conditional offer”.

For PhD most of our schools have rolling entry dates, but we recommend that you apply at least 6 months before your intended start. We also recommend looking at the relevant School of Study to search for supervisors in your area of interest before you apply.

We accept students from around the world onto our postgraduate programmes and assess qualifications from every country. Admissions requirements for many countries and regions around the world are listed on our web pages. You can click Your Country below to see them.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

For students from many countries around the world we would ask for English language certification, before making your offer unconditional. The usual level we refer to is IELTS and the standard requirement for most courses is 6.0 overall with minimum of 5.5 in only two components and 6.0 in the others.

However, we do also accept a whole range of certifications!

The INTO Pre-sessional English course (PSE) provides tailor-made English language and academic preparation for your postgraduate course.

This 20-hour-per-week course is suitable for you if you are academically qualified, hold an offer from the University of East Anglia, and want to improve your English language level before starting.

We are now offering PSE for September start dates.
