Biography

Dr. Koutrakou joined the UEA in 1994, having taught and researched previously at The University of Kent at Canterbury, at Webster University and Regent’s College.

She studied Economics at The University of Piraeus, Greece, and continued her studies with a MA in International Relations and a Ph.D in European Studies, both at the University of Kent at Canterbury, in the UK. By order of competence, she speaks Greek, English, French, Italian, Russian, and a little Japanese. She is a member of the Greek Institute of Economists and an Assignment Provider and Examiner at The University of The Hague. She is also the Director of the research Centre CREST at UEA, and has organised 4 international Conferences at UEA, under its aegis.

Key Research Interests

Research interests follow two strands: One relates to International organisations and Conflict, with a particular focus on the European Union in International Affairs, and the other with Information Technology policies in Europe, with a particular focus on e-government.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Koutrakou’s teaching and research interests follow two strands: One relates to International organisations and Conflict, with a particular focus on the European Union in International Affairs, and the other with Information Technology policies in Europe, with a particular focus on e-government. She has published four books and a handful of articles on related issues and welcomes applications from research students wanting to work on these areas.
