Biography

When I discovered philosophy at school I was immediately enthused to find a discipline that takes nothing for granted and encourages radical questioning. As a student I was drawn to the continental tradition because it offers an integrated view of philosophical thinking, drawing on literature, aesthetics and historical perspectives and refusing to divide philosophical inquiry into specialised fields, each dealing with its own technical problems.

I completed a PhD Heidegger’s contributions to environmental thought at Warwick University and moved to UEA in 2008. My current work is focussed on ecological phenomenology and environmental philosophy, with a particular interest in environmental aesthetics.
