Programme Governance Lead, UEA School of Pharmacy
David became a registered pharmacist in 1987 after completing his BPharm at the University of Bradford and undertaking his pre-registration training in the Metro Centre for Boots the Chemist in Newcastle and Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon. His PhD was in the role of the pharmacist in care homes providing a clinical and TDM service to 200 residents over a 2 year period.
David moved to UEA in 2003 as part of the original team who set up the new school of pharmacy and has supported the regional pre-registration scheme since his arrival. He has worked with the GPhC on panels designing the ethics principles, education standards for undergraduate degrees and proposed new education standards which are yet to be introduced. David is currently working with Health Education England to introduce the pre-registration pharmacist training e-portfolio and competency panel assessment nationally.
