Position: Course Director, MSc in General Pharmacy Practice and Teacher/Practitioner jointly with Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge
Lindsay is part of the Postgraduate Education Team, involved in designing, coordinating and delivering the Joint Programmes Board (JPB) MSc/Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice to East of England NHS trainees. She is also a senior clinical pharmacist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge where she specialises in clinical education and training and looks after the pharmaceutical needs of medical and surgical patients day-to-day. As part of her role at Addenbrooke's, she teaches on the Clinical Pharmacology module for the students of Cambridge Medical School and coordinates teaching related to medicines management for final year medical undergraduates.
She has an interest in clinical and pharmacological research and has a PhD in Neuropharmacology. Her specific research interests are age-related neuronal decline, the physiology of the diseased gastrointestinal tract and functional bowel disorders and she translates this into specific teaching on core central nervous system physiology, biology, pharmacology and therapeutics on the MPharm course. She is also interested in the evolution of pharmacist education from undergraduate through to consultant-level practice, and the development of novel learning opportunities, environments and formative assessments to facilitate individual development in the workplace.
