Ipswich High School for Girls learn about Taxol
Dr Zoë Waller, a Lecturer in Chemical Biology, was recently invited to give a talk about Taxol at Ipswich High School for Girls in Woolverstone.
The talk, entitled “The Story of Taxol: a Pharmacists's Perspective” gave an introduction to Pharmacy as a profession and used the discovery of Taxol to highlight the different cognate areas within Pharmacy as a subject. Zoë says “I was brought up in Ipswich so it was nice to be able to have an immediate connection with the students. Hopefully they are aware of the many different roles of Pharmacy in Medicines from discovering a novel anti-cancer compound, right the way through to patient care”.
