Biography

I am a senior lecturer in competition economics. My research is focused on various issues in law and economics, such as deterrence, reputation, and private sanctions. I have also published papers and done consultancy works on ex post measuring the impact of competition poilcy. I have published in both economics and law journals of international excellence.

Beside my academic achievements, I have several years of enforcement and policy analysis experience working for the Hungarian Competition Authority and for the OECD.

I am a member of the Competition and Markets Authority's Academic Board.

I have provided advice and delivered various reports for the European Commission, the OECD, UNCTAD, and the World Bank on issues related to economic impact evaluation and the estimation of the consumer benefits of competition policy. Some of these are publicly available:

Key Research Interests

My research is mapped around various topics in law and economics, including the analysis of the effect of private sanctions, measuring cartel detection and deterrence, the anti-competitive effects of mergers, and the ex post evaluation of the impact of competition enforcement including the analysis of the deterrent effect of law enforcement. I am currently working on more general questions of law and economics, such as the reputational effects of crime. I generally welcome PhD applications on any of these wider areas.

Teaching Interests

At undergraduate level I teach Economics for Business and Economics for International Business. I am module organiser for the MBA module International Economic Environment.
