Biography

I have been with Norwich Business School since 2010 when I arrived following my PhD studies at the School of Environmental Sciences, at UEA. I have an interdisciplinary background comprising energy engineering, environmental sciences, negotiations, environmental policy and management. My interest is in breaking disciplinary boundaries to solve real problems. Currently, I am Professor of Sustainable Energy Business following my previous roles as Associate Professor in Business and Climate Change. My research focuses on energy policy, energy supply security and innovation in the energy sector including smart grid and storage and the role of energy in the sustainability performance of corporate organisations.

In parallel to NBS, I am visiting at the Department of Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park; the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of Piraeus and at the School of Economics, Management and Statistics at the University of Bologna.

Before UEA I completed studies in software engineering, energy engineering, negotiations and environmental policy. Throughout my previous career I combined academic and industrial engagement. In academia I was involved in teaching and research on environmental and energy business subjects in institutions in Greece and Egypt. In the industry I gained experience as project manager and negotiations manager in the energy sectors of the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Northern Africa.
