Biography

I joined Norwich Business School as Senior Lecturer in Marketing in September 2015. My previous position was Head of Department of Marketing, Enterprise and Tourism and Principal Lecturer in Marketing at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Prior to that I worked as a Marketing Manager and lectured in Marketing at a private college in the City of London.

My teaching experience includes delivering a wide range of marketing based subjects at all levels. I have taught on a number of units associated with The Chartered Institute of Marketing professional qualifications, hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and am a Chartered Marketer. At undergraduate and postgraduate level I have taught Doing Business in China, Business-to-Business Marketing, International Marketing and Research Methods. I have also taught on marketing and business programmes to employees from leading multinational companies, such as: Barclays, British Airways, Sinopec, Bosch, Deutsche Bank, and Mars.

Academic Background

Academic Background

I completed my PhD in International Marketing at Middlesex University in 2006. I also hold degrees in Business Studies (BA) master’s degrees in Marketing (MA) and Chinese Business and International Relations (MSc) and an MPhil in Educational Research from the University of Cambridge.

My research interests focus on Marketing Education, Business Marketing and Chinese Brands. I have published papers on UK-Chinese joint venture relationships and doing business in China. In addition, I am author of Essentials of Business Research: A Guide to Doing Your Research Project (2014, Sage Publications).

Key Research Interests

My research interests include Business-to-Business Marketing, Doing Business in China, Chinese Cultural values, Marketing Education and Business Research. In relation to the latter, I am author of Essentials of Business Research: A Guide to Doing Your Research Project (2014, Sage Publications). I have published in European Business Review, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing and the Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing & Logistics. I have also presented papers at a number of marketing conferences, in particular the Industrial Marketing & Purchasing Group (IMP) Conference.
