Music Society Ensembles Music Society Ensembles

Alongside the UEASO, UEA Choir and Chamber Choir, the student-led UEA Music Society run a varied collection of ensembles who perform diverse repertoires in concerts throughout the year to a very high standard. Find out more about the ensembles and see some of the pieces they have performed in venues across Norwich below by clicking on the drop down menu.

The Jazz Collective

UEA Music Society’s new eight-person Jazz ensemble. With a repertoire ranging from pop chart music to background jazz, ‘The Jazz Collective’ have performed exciting sets at concerts throughout the year, including the Student Union's Transforming Teaching Awards.

Concert Band

The concert band brings together players of woodwind and brass in an ensemble that plays a collection of well‑known wind band, film score, and orchestral pieces.

Music Society Choir

As well as UEA’s Choir and Chamber Choir, the Music Society Choir is a non-auditioned choir which offers UEA students the chance to perform a range of songs and with the other ensembles run by the Music Society, performing across Norwich.


A Cappella

A small group of talented SATB singers that perform to a high standard and have performed works from Karl Jenkins’ ‘Cantate Domino’ to John Bratton’s ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’.


Big Band

Perhaps the Music Society's most popular ensemble, the Big Band is made up of an eclectic and exciting group of students who aim to perform several times each semester at the bi-annual Jazz in the Hive concerts as well as in the LCR on club nights, at Student Society Graduation Balls and alongside other student Music Society showcases.
