Is this course for me?
This course is designed for health professionals as well as those from other professional backgrounds such as teachers,
classroom assistants and police officers that have had little or no training in this area.
What will I learn?
We will explore aspects of the aetiology, presentation, assessment, typical treatments and likely prognosis of a range
of eating disorders – including those that are less commonly known. We will also consider the potential risks to health in the short and longer term.
By the end of the course you will have awareness of:
1. The first signs / indicators of Eating Disorders
2. Common and not so common types of eating disorder
3. Prevalence and trends
4. Causes and assessment issues
5. The physical and neurological health impact
6. Treatments and prognosis
