The 2019 Spring Literary Festival brings an eclectic mix of today’s best writers, thinkers and speakers to Norwich. We will hear from Tracey Thorn, one half of legendary pop duo Everything But The Girl, prominent political activist Gina Miller and two of the very finest contemporary novelists, Tessa Hadley and Rachel Cusk. Joining them will be UEA alumni John Boyne, author of worldwide bestseller The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Man Booker Prize winner Marlon James, and Max Porter, author of the remarkable Grief Is The Thing With Feathers. The festival will close with Damian Barr, whose debut novel, You Will Be Safe Here, is a deeply moving triumph and set to be one of the discoveries of the year.
Showcasing work that is by turns raw, magical, strange, consoling and courageous, this is a festival that revels in the power of the written word to delight, provoke and inspire.
